The Role
Joining our fast-paced, friendly and hard working outdoor team will enable you to work sociable hours, with a focus on work/life balance, in a forward-thinking, ambitious environment, contributing towards our passion for plants and commitment to exceptional customer service. Reporting to the Outdoor Team Leader, you will work with the outdoor team to deliver exceptional standards and outstanding customer service. You will be responsible to deliver the highest standards in displays and plant quality. Building on The Plant Places formidable reputation for beautifully clean and healthy presentations in our well maintained plant area.
The responsibilities include
* Working with the hardy nursery team, proactively selling plants and goods to customers
* Demonstrating a sound knowledge of plants and ensuring the products care through watering and pruning, etc. In order to maintain stock at its optimum level for sale
* Ensuring the hardy nursery plant area is neat, clean and tidy at all times and ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed
* Receiving goods and pricing them
* Replenishing displays and shelves with new stock
* Watering plants and caring for them when required
* Using lifting equipment once training has been supplied
* Anticipating and identifying customers needs and feedback to managers
* Removing trolleys from the car park if required
* Support other departments within the business as required
* Any other reasonable request
About You
* You will have the ability to provide excellent customer service using strong communication
* You will have sound knowledge of plants and horticulture
* You will be physically fit to be able to be on your feet and moving stock in all weather
* You will be flexible with working hours due to the nature of the business
Working Hours
Standard working hours are typically between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with shifts ranging from 7 to 10 hours per day. Specific shift patterns will be discussed during the interview process. Weekend work will be required on a rotational basis.

You may be required to carry out additional duties and take on other responsibilities. In these circumstances you will be expected to liaise directly with the General Manager/Directors. The Company reserves the right to vary or amend the duties and responsibilities of the post holder at any time according to the needs of the Company's business.
