HR Advisor Location: Ross Office/Hybrid Hours: Full-Time – 40 hours per week (Adjust if part-time or alternative hours) Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £37,000 – £40,000 per annum (depending on experience & qualifications) Start Your Career with HSL Compliance To deliver a proactive, professional and flexible Human Resources (HR) service to all employees delivering best practice and ensuring compliance with HSL procedures, policies and employment legislation. What You’ll Do Act as a source of expertise to provide advice, information and practical support to line managers and employees with HR related issues in accordance with HR policies, legislation and best practice. Provide advice and guidance to line managers on employee relations issues, with a view to early and informal resolution where possible, working with stakeholders as appropriate. Provide guidance and support to line managers on managing sickness absence, including monitoring absence triggers, return to work interview compliance and liaising with the Occupational Health provider. Support line managers with the recruitment and selection process, providing advice and guidance to enable managers to make effective selection decisions using appropriate processes and techniques. Maintain, operate and develop HR systems, and be responsible for the comprehensive development and delivery of management information and reports on HSL workforce, providing appropriate analysis and benchmarking as required. Support the HR Business Partner and HR Assistant with managing and checking the monthly payroll, ensuring all changes are shared with the Payroll team and documentation is correct and recorded. Work closely and flexibly with other members of the HR team to ensure the efficient operation of the HR service. Manage or contribute to the planning, coordination, management and delivery of HR projects and projects requiring HR input. Ensure that employee and management information, records and documents are accurately recorded and required reports/data is produced to deadlines. Develop and maintain effective and professional relationships with HR stakeholders. Work with the HR Business Partner and HR Assistant on the management of contracts and maintenance of relationships with suppliers e.g., recruitment agencies Support the performance review process ensuring consistency and identifying issues. An understanding of Learning and Development with the ability to undertake HR related training for managers when needed Conduct research on HR trends and provide recommendations for improvement. What We’re Looking For Up to date knowledge of recruitment strategies, employment legislation and good HR practices. Effective influencing and coaching skills. Able to be calm under pressure and work on own initiative. Highly effective team working skills with an ability to collaborate with others and develop strong and effective working relationships. A high level of interpersonal skills and a confident and articulate communicator, both written and verbal, appropriate to the receiver. Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to manage a complex workload, identify priorities and meet deadlines. Attention to detail with the ability to research, analyse and produce reports. Problem solving with the ability to make logical decisions and find creative solutions to issues within a given timeframe.
