Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, Mental Health Midwife to join our midwifery team working across our Oldham and Rochdale sites. You will work closely with the local perinatal mental health team and others to ensure that there are clear integrated pathways of care for women with perinatal mental illness. You will be part of a dedicated team who continually evaluate the service so that it is person‑centred, quality driven and responsive.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with the local perinatal mental health team and others to provide integrated pathways of care for women with perinatal mental illness.
* Deliver high quality care that is responsive to the needs of the local community and actively engage service users to improve care delivery and service co‑design.
* Work with the Lead Specialist Midwife for Maternal Mental Health to support women with mental health concerns.
* Support the Specialist Midwife in Mental Health to ensure the organisation meets its Mental Health responsibilities throughout the childbirth continuum.
* Provide advice and support to care staff on Mental health issues across community maternity services and within a multi‑agency arena.
* Deliver training and participate in the delivery of signposting and support for other professionals under the direction of the Specialist Midwife for Mental Health.
Qualifications
* Midwife who has completed preceptorship.
* Passionate about providing client‑centred care within the mental health pathway and able to work independently and as part of the MDT.
