LSE Consulting belongs to the commercial arm of the London School of Economics and Political Science. It sits under the Research and Innovation Division and provides exceptional support to consulting project activity, ensuring the quality of competitive proposals against project specifications and working closely with academics, departments, and research centres across the School.
Development Manager
The Development Manager plays a central role in generating new business and contracts for LSE Consulting. The role combines proactive business development with strong academic engagement, ensuring opportunities are identified, shaped and converted into funded projects.
Key responsibilities include:
* Work closely with LSE academics, departments and centres, as well as external clients and partners, to grow the consulting portfolio.
* Sourcing and qualifying tender opportunities.
* Supporting bid preparation and proposal design.
* Reviewing submissions to ensure clarity, consistency and compliance.
* Developing new client‑focused offers and proposals in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
* Contributing to research and market analysis using qualitative and/or quantitative methods.
Qualifications
* Experience in business development, ideally in a consulting or research environment.
* Confidence working with a range of stakeholders.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
Salary
£43,277 to £51,714 per annum inclusive, with potential to progress to £55,497 per annum inclusive of London allowance.
