DPS is seeking to recruit a Project Manager with a Mechanical or Electrical background to join their Contracts team based in Bangor, Co Down. This role offers an opportunity for aspiring Project Engineers to develop a career in project management.
Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of the project from contract award to client handover.
* Oversee design development through close liaison with designers, responsible for design deliverables such as GA's, P&ID's, PFD's, Schematics, DRA's and their review.
* Purchase and acquisition of labour, equipment and materials.
* Project planning and monitoring; prepare, update and report against project programmes, ensuring all milestones and reporting requirements are achieved.
* Manage and organise site personnel and external contractors.
* Liaise with suppliers and client through progress meetings and site visits.
* Monitor project budgets and update cost trackers.
* Be responsible for health, safety and well‑being of all personnel on site, ensuring all workplace procedures and policies are adhered to.
* Prepare and coordinate all project documentation, including design documents, engineering reports, RAMS, operation and maintenance manuals, commissioning and Health & Safety File content.
* Work with and support the client after construction for training and support.
* Liaise with and report to the Contracts Manager and provide timely updates on progress.
* Assist with tenders as required – design, pricing and quality documentation.
* Perform the job in line with company policies and procedures.
* Perform any other duties as reasonably required from time to time.
Qualifications
* Experience working in design, build or operate phases of industrial projects in the water, wastewater or food & beverage sectors.
* Experience and ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams through all phases of the project, including safety and commercial matters.
* Ability to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time‑management.
* Possess a "can do" attitude and proactive approach to resolving technical, commercial, resource and other daily issues that arise during coordination and management of project delivery.
* Comfortable making required decisions for project success.
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications and working knowledge of Autodesk design packages is advantageous.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience and knowledge of common processes and equipment employed in the water & wastewater treatment sector would be beneficial.
* Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Education: Third‑level mechanical, civil or electrical engineering degree/diploma or a similar relevant degree.
* Experience in a similar role.
