Apleona UK is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Head of Tax & Reporting to lead our tax strategy, compliance, and financial reporting across the Northern Europe region. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for governance, audit oversight, and strategic tax optimisation, working closely with the Group CFO.
The Key responsibilities for the Head of Tax & Reporting will include:
7. Lead all direct and indirect tax compliance across multiple UK and European entities
8. Drive tax strategy, risk management, and optimisation (including transfer pricing and group relief)
9. Oversee statutory accounts, consolidated tax reporting, and submissions to Group HQ
10. Manage internal and external audits and relationships with tax authorities and advisors
11. Provide technical tax and accounting guidance to regional finance teams
12. Lead tax training and compliance programmes across the business
13. Monitor legislative changes and advise senior leadership on business impact
14. Champion continuous improvement in tax systems, processes, and controls
15. Support business projects with tax risk assessments and compliance reviews
Our Ideal candidate will need to have:
16. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
17. Extensive experience in senior tax leadership within a complex, multi entity environment
18. Expert knowledge of UK tax, IFRS, UK GAAP, and cross border taxation
19. Proven experience in tax compliance, audit management, and strategic tax planning
20. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
21. Experience delivering tax training and developing high performing finance teams
22. Background in facilities management, engineering, or a related service led sector would be desirable
23. Experience with finance systems implementation and transformation
We’ll make sure that you have everything you need to do a great job. You will already have experience gained in a similar role. You will work 37.5 hours per week but will need to be flexible to ensure service delivery at the highest level.
