THIS IS A FIXED TERM POST FOR 12 MONTHS.

If so, this is a great opportunity to join Liverpool Diocese in a key supporting role. As the Finance & Data Officer you will be the team’s data and analytics expert, working behind the scenes, helping with financial tracking, forecasting, reporting and data management for a variety of projects. Your work will enable good decision-making, ensure financial accountability, and support the Diocese vision to create a Bigger Church making a Bigger Difference.
Duties and key responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
* Prepare financial reporting and forecasting, including quarterly claims to the Commissioners.
* Assist deaneries in managing their individual budgets, including tracking spend against transition budgets and project budgets ( Resource Hubs, Youth, etc.).
* Manage invoice processing and contractors payroll.
* Oversee the expenses process and associated approvals.
* Provide financial oversight for other smaller ongoing and legacy projects
Data, Admin, and Systems Support
* Provide ad hoc support for collecting data and preparing reports to assist financial oversight.
* Alongside Diocese colleagues, ensure systems and software are used efficiently, data is accurate, and processes are as automated as possible where feasible.
* Support project and office administration as needed
Parish Budgeting
Assist the Financial Systems Advisor with the roll out of budgeting processes for churches and parishes across Liverpool Diocese.
* Develop the excel budgeting tool, assist with training and support the phased implementation.
* Work with Data Developments on budget functionality of MFAO software

Person Specification
Experience and Qualifications:
* Experience working with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) to manage and analyse data.
* Experience working with financial and/or administrative systems.
* Experience managing administration processes
* Qualified to A-level standard
* Able to occasionally work flexible hours to meet with church volunteers in locations across Liverpool Diocese
Knowledge and Skills
* Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Confident with digital systems and able to learn new software quickly.
* Good written and verbal communication skills, able to explain financial information clearly.
* Ability to take responsibility to ensure tasks are completed – a completer-finisher
* Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
