About You. Are you ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified? Does the idea of joining a finance department in a business undergoing an exciting period of transformation appeal? Do you have firm knowledge of current accounting standards? Have you previously led, developed and motivated a team? The Role. Reporting to our Financial Controller, your role will play a crucial part in ensuring that all financial activities are executed efficiently and remain fully connected with both operational and financial systems. This is a role is offered on a contract basis for 12 months. ​ You'll be responsible for managing a variety of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, monthly reconciliations, postings, bank postings, and cash flow management. ​ Day to day, you’ll be covering the following: ​ Prepare month-end close documentation and monthly management accounts for review by the Financial Controller. Manage a small team overseeing day to day transactions, and ensuring that all tasks and postings are completed on time. Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed on a monthly basis Prepare VAT return information Oversee purchase and sales ledgers. Ensure that suspense accounts are cleared and monitored Assist in the year-end process and providing information to auditors Complete ad-hoc tasks as required by the Financial Controller. ​ In addition to the above, you'll maintain regular access and contact with the team, and will conduct monthly one to one’s aligning to the team's annual objectives. ​ You'll ensure that development opportunities are identified / supported and and will assist the Financial Controller with performance reviews at half and full year intervals. ​ Your Background and Experience. You'll have a firm knowledge of current accounting standards, experience of financial reporting plus audit processes and liaising with external auditors. ​ You've used Sage Intacct (or a similar system) previously) and have strong Excel skills. You're analytical and logical by nature and have a focus on continuous improvement; how can we improve and develop? ​ The successful applicant will have prior experience of managing and leading a team and ensuring that daily / monthly tasks are completed accurately and on time. ​ This role will suit someone who has excellent communication skills, is happy and able to liaise with external auditors and communicate with internal and external stakeholders as required. ​ Why Join Us?
