Role Summary:
As the Head of Maintenance, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the manufacturing facility with your hands-on approach, technical expertise, and leadership skills, driving maintenance initiatives, optimising machine performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Additional responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
1. A hands-on engineer, actively involved in diagnosing and resolving complex maintenance issues.
2. Lead by example, demonstrating technical competence and a deep understanding of our machinery and processes.
Maintenance Strategy:
3. Develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance strategy aligned with our business goals.
4. Prioritise preventive maintenance, minimising downtime, and maximising machine reliability.
Team Management:
5. Lead and mentor a team of skilled technicians, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
6. Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Cost-Effective Solutions:
7. Identify cost-effective solutions to enhance machine reliability and minimise operational disruptions.
8. Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to optimise maintenance budgets.
Continuous Improvement:
9. Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.
10. Implement best practices, monitor KPIs, and drive efficiency gains.
11. Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to source cost-conscious parts and alternative tooling
About you:
You will be a passionate, self-starting, and proactive maintenance leader, seeking to join an organisation that is on a positive and consistent growth plan. You will complement their innovative and ever-changing environment by adding the same emphasis to the evolution of the maintenance programme resulting in asset reliability and availability.
12. You will hold some form of engineering qualification, such as NVQ L3, HNC, HND or a degree in either a Mechanical or Electrical discipline (or similar).
13. Proven experience in a similar maintenance leadership role, within a manufacturing environment.
14. Strong technical knowledge of production machinery, such as conveyors, extrusion, injection moulding and similar
15. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance challenges, improvements, and adaptions.
16. Right to work in the UK without restriction. Sponsorship is not available.
