Monday – Friday: 08:30 – 17:00. On a Friday you will finish at 16:30.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands‑on experience.
What you'll do at work
* Answering the telephone as a member of the helpdesk.
* Answering emails.
* Monitoring the communal Cornwall email box.
* Using the CAFM system Concerto as required by Cornwall Council. Full training will be given by Nina Carter on how to use Concerto and how the contract works.
Training
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
* Use multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data using MS Office or equivalent packages.
* Produce accurate records and documents including emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals; recommend improvements and present solutions to management; draft correspondence; write reports and review others’ work; maintain records; handle confidential information in compliance with organisational procedures; coach others in required processes.
* Exercise proactivity and good judgement; make decisions based on sound reasoning; deal with challenges maturely; seek advice when appropriate.
* Build and maintain positive relationships within your team and across the organisation; influence and challenge appropriately; become a role‑model and develop coaching skills.
* Demonstrate good communication skills—face‑to‑face, telephone, writing or digital platforms; use appropriate channels; demonstrate agility and confidence; apply social media solutions appropriately; answer questions from inside and outside the organisation and represent the organisation or department.
* Complete tasks to a high standard; apply expertise; improve work continuously; review processes autonomously and suggest improvements; share best practice; apply problem‑solving skills to resolve complex complaints and be a key point of contact for issues.
* Take responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, manage priorities and time to meet deadlines; set a positive example; suggest improvements with an eye to wider implications; manage resources such as equipment or facilities; organise meetings and events, take minutes and create action logs; manage logistics such as travel and accommodation.
* Use project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor and report; plan resources; undertake and lead projects when required.
* Attend St Austell College fortnightly, with some elements of the course delivered online.
* Work towards a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
* Apprenticeship consists of a mixture of off‑the‑job training and on‑the‑job mentoring and development within the workplace.
Requirements
GCSE in Mathematics (grade 4 / C).
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
College attendance takes place bi‑weekly at St Austell Campus. You are responsible for arranging your own transport to the campus and to the workplace.
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you may potentially be offered a full‑time position if available.
