Overview
This is a unique and exceptional opportunity assisting the Director of a rapidly growing arts and events organisation in Hay-on-Wye. You will have your own accommodation in a magical mountain setting if you are not local and accommodation is required. The majority (70%) of your time will be involved in marketing events at a thriving arts centre. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to our annual festivals both in Hay and London. In addition, you will help with the running of the Director’s household and the collection of teenage children from school and other activities, and the preparation of meals.
Responsibilities
* Market events at a thriving arts centre (approximately 70% of the time).
* Contribute to the planning and execution of annual festivals in Hay and London.
* Assist with running the Director’s household and family-related tasks, including collection of children from school and activities, and meal preparation.
Qualifications and Skills
* Strong educational background and real interest in events.
* Highly organized, practical, independent and outgoing with a creative spark.
* Ability to contribute content for web and hard copy, and to write well with the ability to create quality images and videos.
* Training for the role will be provided; some previous experience of events, web, social media or video is advantageous.
Location and Requirements
We operate in a very beautiful part of the world, and it is essential that you have a car, a full driving license, and a genuine love of the countryside, since you will be required to visit people and locations in the area. The Director’s house is high up in the Black Mountains near Hay-on-Wye. The ideal candidate will either live in or have local connections to Hay-on-Wye/Hereford, but accommodation may also be provided if this isn11t the case.
