Job description
A welcoming primary school in the Maldon area is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs from January 2026.
This is a full-time, long-term position and a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a child’s learning, confidence, and wellbeing while becoming a valued member of a supportive school team.

The Role:
* Provide consistent one-to-one support for a pupil with SEN, helping them access learning and thrive in the classroom.
* Support the child’s academic, social, and emotional development in line with their individual support plan.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt activities and learning materials where needed.
* Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement, independence, and confidence.
* Support the child both in the classroom and during unstructured times such as break and lunch.
* Monitor progress and feedback observations to teaching staff.

The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
* A patient, calm, and nurturing approach, with strong interpersonal skills.
* Ability to build positive relationships and provide consistent support.
* A genuine passion for working with children and helping them reach their potential.
* Relevant qualifications ( CACHE Level 2/3) are desirable but not essential.
