Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist within our CAMHS based at Ayrshire Central Hospital, Irvine.
Hours and Shift Pattern:
The post is 40 hours a week with a DCC8: SPA 2 split. This post is offered on a permanent basis. The Terms and Conditions of service are those determined by the Consultant Contract.
What you will do:
You will develop and implement a community based model of care with in-reach to specialist hospital based services when appropriate, to maintain effective working relationships with families and deliver seamless patient interventions.
You will provide active consultant leadership to the care team to ensure safe, effective, patient-centred care for all patients referred to the service.
You will ensure that the care team works closely with local, regional and national inpatient services, to deliver integrated clinical care and provide specialist psychiatric assessment, treatment and risk management for patients within the care team.
You will be expected to contribute to the clinical governance agenda within Mental Health Services, to ensure the delivery of safe and effective high quality clinical interventions in all aspects of patient care.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Appropriately experienced applicants must have Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice and must be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCT or CESR at the date of interview. The applicant should be a Member or Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent, and be eligible for, or willing to seek, Approval under section 22 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003.
