Job Title: Sous Chef
Location: St Albans
Salary: £30,000 – £33,000 per annum (depending on experience)
About the Role:
We’re seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join a dynamic kitchen team in St Albans. You’ll play a key role in leading service, supporting the Head Chef, and helping deliver excellent food for both daily service and special events.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily kitchen operations alongside the Head Chef
Lead and motivate the team to deliver high standards of food and presentation
Ensure all food hygiene and safety standards are consistently met
Assist in menu development and planning for functions and events
Manage prep schedules, ordering, and stock control
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready for the next step
Must be able to drive (due to location)
Weekend work required – typical shifts start between 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM, finishing around 3:30 PM – May be later if there is an event/functions
40-hour week over 5 days, with flexibility for longer days during events/functions
Confident cooking skills and ability to manage a section independently
