Children's Social Worker - Children's First Contact Service
Welcome and Retention Bonus:
£ paid in your first month salary and £ paid at the end of your 1st completed year in service
£ paid after your 2nd completed year in service
£ paid in your 3rd completed year in service and every completed year thereafter.
Whole package totals up to £47, (including Retention Bonus)
We are looking for confident and skilled Social Workers to work in our Children's First Contact Service. Our objective is to deliver the best outcomes for children and young people.
Reporting to the Team Manager, you will work within the frameworks of Early Help, Section 17 and Section 47 - processing contacts received into the team on a daily basis, concluding relevant outcomes as to any onward plan. Your role will include liaising with multi agencies and engage at times in multi agency forums.
Compliance is key to our statutory requirements and as a Social worker you will deliver all aspects of work in accordance with safeguarding policy, procedure, and standards, ensuring that the children are at the heart of your decision making.

The successful candidates will be enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a caring and calm approach who have a thorough understanding of the frameworks that underpin social work practice. You will bring insight and experience to the team and the lives of children and show initiative which will help develop our services to an outstanding standard. You must also enjoy working in a high pace team, being able to deliver consistency, energy, and passion to make a difference in children's and young people's lives. You will demonstrate empathy when dealing with sensitive situations and strong interpersonal skills using different ways of communicating. Showcasing the ability to assess and record a child's needs, applied through evidence based practice to justify decision making.
We welcome applications from experienced CFCS/MASH practitioners or those with sustained child protection experience and with a clear ability to write comprehensively, speak with clarity and are able to deliver analysis based on evidence and research.

In addition, We would expect the successful candidate to demonstrate the following competences (not limited to):
you are a Qualified Social Worker with a Social Work degree or recognised qualification and registered with the relevant regulatory body Social Work England
have completed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
At least 2 years post ASYE work experience as a UK Registered Social Worker
hold the relevant skills, knowledge and aptitude to ensure that all vulnerable people are safeguarded from abuse and that all statutory functions, local policy, procedures are adhered to in a timely manner and documented accordingly.

Sutton’s Children’s First Contact Service is a single point of contact for all early help and children’s social care services, support for children through to identifying children in need and Child protection matters. The lines is open to all practitioners and the general public.
Sutton’s Children’s First Contact Service aims to ensure a consistent and efficient response to referrals to the Children’s Service’s. The Children’s First contact Service co-ordinates incoming referrals and seeks to ensure that they follow the appropriate pathway for the child's needs according to Pan London threshold matrix.
