Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and commercially focused
Assistant
Accountant
to support the financial performance of our manufacturing site. Working closely with the Site Financial Controller and Plant Leadership Team, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and robust financial control to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
* Support the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts in line with internal policies and controls.
* Assist with internal and external financial reporting requirements.
* Support the preparation, monitoring, and delivery of the site budget.
Management Accounting & Analysis
* Provide timely and meaningful financial analysis to support plant performance.
* Partner with operational managers to understand cost drivers and performance trends.
* Support the Financial Controller with ad hoc analysis and reporting.
Cost Accounting, Inventory & Assets
* Maintain accurate costing of products, inventory, and overheads.
* Support inventory control processes, reconciliations, and physical stock counts.
* Assist with asset accounting and related controls.
Forecasting & Month-End
* Contribute to forecasting and planning cycles.
* Prepare accruals, prepayments, and journals for month-end close.
* Review and analyse expense accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Support
* Act as a finance business partner to operational teams.
* Promote a customer-focused, service-driven finance function.
* Build strong working relationships across the site.
Continuous Improvement & Culture
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within finance and operations.
* Champion company values and contribute to a high-performance culture.
* Promote safe working practices within the finance function.
About You
* Part-qualified accountant
* Experience in a manufacturing or operational finance environment (desirable)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement focus
