Job Purpose
The role of the Workshop Manager is to:
1. Manage the process of optimising workshop resources to meet agreed departmental budgets.
2. Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and communicated effectively to other members of the department.
3. Support the Aftersales Manager in managing the sourcing and supply of manufacturer vehicle parts and monitor all service processes.
4. Support the Aftersales Manager in achieving service volumes and profit objectives by motivating and developing the workshop team to be fully competent in their productivity.
5. Deliver Manufacturer CXM targets through right first time, on time workshop management and through class-leading internal and external communication.

Key Responsibilities

1. Calculate and manage the effective use of workshop resources for the business.
2. Implement technician retention tools as per company guidelines.
3. Recruit technicians.
4. Ensure workshop is hitting and maintaining EVHC targets.
5. Monitor and proactively ensure work levels are sufficient to meet targets.
6. Monitor individual and workshop efficiencies to ensure KPIs are met.
7. Plan the distribution of work amongst the team utilizing available skills.
8. Identify individual training and development needs and manage bookings.
9. Manage liaison between workshop and service reception on vehicle progress.
10. Maintain workshop standards in accordance with brand requirements alongside the Workshop Manager.
11. Ensure understanding and adherence to manufacturer service requirements and customer satisfaction indicators.
12. Maintain and develop own skills and technical knowledge.
13. Maintain safe working practices and abide by the working rules of the business.
14. Ensure all service processes meet brand standards and are implemented consistently.
15. Communicate regularly with other departments to develop the business and team ethos.
16. Share updates on targets and internal communications with the workshop team.
Essential Skills & Requirements
* Competency in numeracy, literacy, and IT.
* Good organisational and leadership skills with the ability to delegate and motivate.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Smart appearance.
* Energy and enthusiasm.
* Understanding of workshop department KPIs.
Experience
Desirable: Relevant manufacturer experience.
