The Role: Field Project Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Project Engineer to join our Projects Team. This role is responsible for delivering projects to the highest standards of quality, cost efficiency, and timeliness, while ensuring compliance with the latest Building Safety Act requirements and NACD's internal frameworks.
This is a dynamic position that combines on-site technical leadership with project management and client-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
* Manage multiple projects of varying scope and duration.
* Oversee on-site installation of DES/ACS/CCTV/TV-IRS systems and readiness for commissioning.
* Conduct pre-installation surveys and feasibility assessments.
* Ensure Health & Safety compliance during all construction phases (CDM regulations & Building Safety Act).
Stakeholder Engagement
* Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, engineers, and subcontractors.
* Attend pre-start and progress meetings, escalating issues where appropriate.
* Deliver system demonstrations and end-user training.
Technical Oversight
* Provide hands-on technical support and mentoring to engineers.
* Perform quality assurance checks and ensure RAMS reflect site conditions.
* Maintain accurate documentation and site records.
Resource & Equipment Management
* Plan and requisition project materials and equipment.
* Conduct van stock and equipment audits.
* Manage returns and liaise with procurement.
About You
You are an experienced engineer with a strong background in door entry, access control, and CCTV systems. You thrive in fast-paced, multi-project environments and enjoy working directly with clients and teams on site. Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a similar engineering/project role.
* Strong technical knowledge in electronic security systems.
* Experience with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
* Proficient in MS Office 365 and ERP systems.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* ECS or CSCS card.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work flexibly and remain resilient under pressure.
* A "can do" attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and compliance.
Desirable Qualifications
* BTEC/NVQ in a security-related discipline.
* Training/awareness in areas such as asbestos handling, manual handling, RPE, rooftop access, SSSTS.
* PASMA, IPAF, or SMSTS certification.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30–16:30 (flexibility required to meet project demands).
Location: Hybrid – Construction sites, NACD Head Office (Hemel Hempstead), and remote working
