Train Driver - Rugby
Job Purpose: To carry out train driving, train preparation, and shunting duties in line with DRS business requirements and services.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. To safely & punctually operate train services supporting DRS customer and company requirements.
- Conform to GE/RT8000 and all associated documentation.
- Comply with all company procedures.
- Meet assessment criteria.
- Work safely and correctly.
- Complete necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with the DRS Competency Management System (CMS).
2. To perform Train Person duties as required:
- Conform to GE/RT8000 and related documentation.
- Follow all company procedures.
- Meet assessment criteria.
- Carry required equipment/PPE.
- Arrive punctually.
- Work safely.
- Complete documentation for trains.
3. To perform Traffic Examination & shunting activities:
- Conduct Traffic Examination checks.
- Manage competency for refresher checks.
4. To develop and maintain route and traction knowledge as directed by managers to support operations.
- Monitor routes and traction.
- Follow route knowledge procedures.
5. To observe and acknowledge all publications and notices in line with CMS:
- Ensure CMS compliance.
- Keep publications up to date.
- Sign and make amendments to notices.
- Carry relevant notices during work.
6. To undertake all necessary training:
- Attend courses and exercises as requested.
7. To adhere to safety policies to help achieve company goals:
- Attend safety days.
- Report hazards promptly.
- Manage personal PPE.
8. To comply with security requirements:
- Be aware of risk assessments.
- Carry correct ID.
- Stay alert to security threats.
- Report incidents.
- Obtain SC security clearance.
9. To drive road vehicles as required:
- Follow company handbook and speed limits.
- Adjust driving for weather conditions.
