We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Stourbridge in the West Midlands for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an independent practice which has recently moved into brand new premises and now offers a modern, spacious working environment and can offer " all the toys".
This position offers part time hours working 2 - 3 days per week. There is a generous Saturday rota which comprise of scheduled appointments which are mostly vaccinations. There are no Sundays or OOH.
The role offers a mixture of consultations and surgeries but what sets them apart from others is that each Vet also work alongside a consultation assistant gaining them an extra pair of hands within the consultation room. Consultations are 20 minutes. The consultant meets and greets the client and then provides the Vet assistance throughout the whole consultation process. To ensure that each Vet has the time to follow up cases, the practice ensure there is plenty of time for administrative duties.
This is an established small animal practice which boasts a large team of 35 in total. They are proud to say that some team members have been with them for up to 20 years!! They can offer a varied caseload and plenty of support with the partners on site each day. They also ensure there are plenty of opportunities for case discussions.
Since moving into the new premises they are now able to offer separate dog and cat wards, along with 5 consulting rooms, onsite parking and all the diagnostics that one would expect.

The role
16. The role is a part time position working 2-3 days per week. There are no OOH and a generous Saturday rota.
17. The role will involve a varied caseload and a mixture of consultations and surgeries.

20. The vet will have the opportunity to work within a brand new purpose built practice with all the toys. One of the Vets has an interest in orthopaedics therefore these surgeries are performed in house.
21. The Vet receives additional support by consultation assistants who participate in the consultation process with the client and can assist with various duties including handling the patients, assisting in administrations of medications, cleaning up after each consultation etc.

33. Their main focus is the fit within the current team however ideally the Vet would have some post graduate small animal experience where they are comfortable in routine consultations and surgeries.

35. The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills. They will be able to build rapport and strong client relationships.
