Dispensing Optician

The Role
As a Dispensing Optician, you will play a pivotal role within the practice, acting as the key link between the consulting room and the dispensing process. You will ensure every patient receives a seamless, high-quality experience from consultation through to final fitting.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver outstanding customer service with a professional and friendly approach at all times
* Accurately complete administrative tasks, ensuring clinical records are compliant with GDPR
* Handle financial transactions securely and in line with procedures
* Support Optical Assistants, including pre-screening and general practice duties
* Provide training, guidance, and supervision to Dispensing Assistants
* Facilitate smooth handovers between Optometrist and patient
* Advise on frame selection and lens options, taking precise measurements using digital tools
* Perform focimetry and manage spectacle orders, liaising with suppliers and patients
* Ensure all spectacles are fitted, adjusted, and quality checked to the highest standard
* Carry out minor repairs on spectacles and hearing aids
* Resolve patient concerns professionally, escalating when necessary
* Maintain high standards of presentation within the practice
* Stay up to date with clinical knowledge, products, and GOC requirements
About You
* Level 6 Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing (essential)
* Proven experience in spectacle dispensing
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Strong organisational and IT skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
* Enthusiastic, adaptable, and keen to develop professionally
