NEOS Recruitment are working exclusively with a leading M&E & HVAC contractor delivering a landmark, large-scale project in Newcastle. We are seeking an experienced Senior M&E Project Manager to lead the mechanical and electrical building services package from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
The Role
As a Senior M&E Project Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of building services engineering – from contract negotiation through design coordination, installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance planning.
Key responsibilities include:
Negotiating and developing project contracts, agreeing terms with clients, and managing tenders
Commissioning, organising, and assessing contractor performance
Reviewing and interpreting complex technical diagrams, plans, and CAD drawings
Utilising BIM and CAD software to coordinate systems on a large, multifaceted project
Managing budgets and forecasting spend using whole life cycle costing techniques
Designing and specifying site-specific equipment when required
Overseeing the installation of building systems and setting maintenance procedures
Monitoring and optimising building systems performance
Making decisions on replacement or relocation of expired equipment
Liaising closely with architects, engineers, surveyors, builders, and internal teams
Leading project group and technical meetings to ensure delivery milestones are met
Ensuring compliance with all legislative, health & safety, and environmental requirements
Advising clients and design teams on energy use, sustainability, and carbon footprint reduction
The Person
You will bring:
Proven experience managing large-scale M&E projects, ideally within the building services sector
Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities
Proficiency in CAD, BIM, and other design/coordination tools
A strong commercial mindset with the ability to manage budgets and schedules effectively
Qualifications:
HNC/Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Built Environment, or related field
Relevant project management and health & safety certifications desirable
