Hybrid | A South Yorkshire City Council
A South Yorkshire City Council is progressing a wide range of transport and place‑based initiatives, aligned with the South Yorkshire Local Transport Plan. These focus on tackling rising car use, improving access to employment and services, supporting sustainable travel, and delivering local strategies for cycling, parking and green transport.
The council is also advancing work supported by the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS), which provides revenue to accelerate business case development, data collection and transport modelling. This activity supports the authority in unlocking up to £72m of future capital investment in public transport and active travel infrastructure.
Additionally, the authority has recently approved a new long‑term city centre masterplan, shaping the area's development up to 2050. Public transport, walking routes and the transport interchange featured prominently in public consultation responses guiding the plan's creation.
This Transport Planner role contributes to these wider ambitions through day‑to‑day technical work on development proposals, policy application and network planning.
