GSL Education are currently seeking an enthusiastic Behaviour Support Assistant to join a primary school in Nottingham. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with pupils to encourage positive behaviour, support learning, and create a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and support staff to help pupils develop socially, emotionally, and academically. You will play a vital role in implementing behaviour strategies, supporting interventions, and ensuring pupils can engage effectively in learning.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
* Support pupils in managing their behaviour and maintaining focus during lessons.
* Implement behaviour management strategies as directed by the class teacher or SENCO.
* Work 1:1 or with small groups of pupils requiring additional support.
* Encourage positive attitudes to learning and social development.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
* Observe, record, and report pupil progress to inform teaching strategies.
Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant:
* Experience working with children in a primary setting is desirable.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
