We are recruiting for 3 Complex Needs Assistants for a school supporting primary age children with severe learning difficulties and complex autism. About the Role
As a Complex Needs Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils with a wide range of needs. You will play a vital role in helping children to communicate, regulate their emotions, develop independence and engage in learning.
This is a rewarding and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will:
* Support pupils’ communication, interaction and engagement
* Help pupils manage their emotions and behaviour in a calm, consistent way
* Assist with personal care where required
* Adapt activities to meet individual needs
* Contribute to a safe, structured and nurturing environment
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Who we’re Looking For
We warmly welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, particularly those with experience in:
Health & Social Care / Support Work
* Supporting individuals with complex needs, autism or additional needs
* Experience with personal care, behaviour support or safeguarding
Early Years / EYFS
* Strong understanding of child development and early communication
* Experience creating engaging, structured and nurturing environments
Special Educational Needs (SEND)
* Experience in special schools, alternative provision or specialist settings
* Knowledge of autism, communication needs or sensory differences
