About the Business:
Addington Hostel has been providing supportive housing for men for about 130 years in a hostel setting in Christchurch. This site is unique in its provision of "wrap around" support for men who have had previous involvement from Corrections, Mental health, Addictions services
About the Role:
This Support worker role is a practical one keeping a busy hostel functioning both day and night. You will be involved in medication, food services, cleaning, keeping the site safe, taking calls, supporting the men across the shift. We are always needing Casual staff to cover any gaps in the roster mostly in afternoon, night and weekend shifts when staff are sick or on holidays. We do not use Agency staff for this role, so you always in demand.
What will your responsibilities be:
4. Medications
5. Food support for meals
6. Cleaning and site safety
7. Supporting the men
8. Responding to public inquiry
Our ideal candidate will:
9. Must have Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or approved equivalent).
10. At least 2 years prior experience in working either in Housing, Corrections, Addictions or Mental health.
11. Be comfortable in an all male hostel (majority of staff are female)
12. Able to work afternoon/nights/weekend shifts as this is the majority of the demand
13. Have a full drivers licence

This role is casual and hours worked will be on a as needed basis
The starting hourly rate for this role will be $29.60
