We are looking for a Buyer for a leading Aerospace organisation based in Broughton, working within the Buildings & Construction UK procurement team. This role will take a trans-divisional and occasionally international approach, supporting current and future project scopes across multiple business units.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week on site(Tuesday & Thursday mandatory) 2 days WFH.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement the procurement strategy as defined by Commodity Procurement Management and cross-functional project teams.
* Manage procurement projects and lead tender processes for initiatives within the Building & Construction category, both nationally and internationally.
* Develop and maintain a strong and efficient supply chain capable of delivering goods and services that meet the organisation’s requirements and business objectives.
* Ensure that all deliverables are met in accordance with contractual terms including cost, time, and quality targets.
* Align the preferred supplier base with the organisation’s long-term strategic procurement needs.
* Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with suppliers, mitigating contractual risks and ensuring performance excellence.
* Conduct end-to-end procurement processes in line with company policies and procurement guidelines, ensuring customer satisfaction.
* Support savings and efficiency initiatives through demand control, specification standardisation, volume aggregation, and supplier optimisation.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with internal procurement processes and procedures.
* Lead cross-functional teams across national and international procurement projects, from demand definition to supplier selection and contract award.
* Negotiate, draft, and implement national and international framework contracts.
* Monitor and review supplier performance using KPI-based assessments, and lead recovery actions where necessary.
* Provide process guidance to business operations to support the effective execution of transactional procurement tasks.
* Participate in the development of procurement strategies through benchmarking, cost analysis, and make-or-buy assessments.
* Support the implementation of modern procurement tools and platforms such as e-procurement and e-catalogues.
* Track and report on procurement performance and contribute to achieving company-wide cost savings targets.
