What You'll Be Doing
As our Tourism Manager, you'll be at the heart of our operation, leading the team that brings York's history and magic to life.
Build Partnerships & Drive Growth
* Work with local attractions, businesses, and tourism partners to create exciting collaborations that boost visibility and revenue.
Ensure Operational Excellence
* Monitor and maintain Service Level Agreements with our vehicle provider Yorkshire Coastliner to keep our service running smoothly and reliably.
Champion a First‑Class Visitor Experience
* Lead a customer‑centric culture that ensures every guest enjoys a memorable, high‑quality tour of the city.
Create Unique & Bespoke Experiences
* Develop tailored tours for private groups, schools, and special events delivering something truly special for every booking.
Lead & Support Our Amazing Team
* · Organise rota scheduling for Tour Guides and Sales colleagues, ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time.
Get Creative with Social Media
* Support content creation for TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms, and manage online reviews across Google, TripAdvisor, and more.
Collaborate with Tourism Boards
* Work closely with both local and national tourism bodies to promote York as a world‑class destination.

You'll thrive in this role if you have
* At least 1 year of experience in Business Development, you know how to spot opportunities and turn them into wins.
* A natural ability to juggle multiple tasks identify priorities while staying cool, organised, and focused.
* Experience in leading and motivating a small team, ensuring the day‑to‑day operation runs smoothly and positively.
* Top‑notch communication and presentation skills that make people lean in and listen.
* A sharp commercial mindset and a drive to deliver real results.
* Strong negotiation and relationship‑building skills, partnerships practically grow in your hands.
* A proactive, self‑starting attitude and able to work under your own initiativeyou make things happen.
