Right now, we are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager to join our Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) Department on a permanent basis. This role will be based at our head office in Kings Hill, with travel to our sites, offices, factories and yards as required.
About the Role
As our Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager, you will report to the Group Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Director and play a key role in managing and improving the Business Management System (BMS) via our SharePoint platform. You will oversee International Standards and Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) compliance, ensuring we maintain our certifications and best practices.
Over time we look to expand the amount of ISOs, SSIPs, DVSA Earned Recognition, etc. due to client demands, as part of the de-risking of the business, continual improvement or procurement opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO, SSIP and FORS standards.
* Managing and enhancing the Business Management System for optimal user experience.
* Working with external certification bodies such as BSI, FORS, and SSIPs.
* Performing quality assurance audits across all Chartway sites.
* Compiling and presenting monthly board reports on quality assurance.
* Developing company policies in line with Chartway’s objectives and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborating with site teams to address non-conformances and drive quality improvements.
* Integrating subsidiaries into the BMS to maintain ISO compliance.
* Supporting the ESG strategy and departmental objectives.
* Managing the Quality Assurance Auditor and ensuring best practices are upheld.
What You’ll Need

You’ll have previous experience in a similar role, ideally within housebuilding or construction industry, with proven ISO compliance experience (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001, 27001, 14064-1). Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint is essential, as is a full UK Driving licence.
In addition, it would be beneficial if you have experience with FORS Bronze and Silver certifications, knowledge of DVSA Earned Recognition schemes, and experience with Van Excellence programmes. It would also be beneficial if you have an internal auditor/lead auditor qualification in the above-mentioned ISOs but not essential as we can provide training.
Membership of professional bodies such as IOSH, IEMA, or CQI would also be an advantage.
