Job Title:  Specialist or Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist 

Location:  Belmont Secondary School, Rawtenstall BB4 6RX

Salary:  Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience)      

*Please note- basic grade SALT offers from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+ & Highly specialist\nfrom £48,000+.*

Hours:    37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours to overlap with core school hours (Part time hours may be considered) 

Contract:      Permanent (Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)

The role: 

We are looking for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Belmont\nSecondary school

Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working. This will guide your practice within an education setting and clarify your roles and responsibilities, while taking into account the requirements of your governing and professional bodies. You will be given responsibility for holding a Speech and Language therapy caseload, with the full support of your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, also contributing to staff training and consultation as required This post would suit a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual.

All our\nsettings maintain a strong safeguarding culture, and the pupils we support are heard, respected, and involved in decisions\nthat affect them. We strive for excellence, which is why we are one of the\nleading service providers in the UK.  With this in mind, we are looking for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist who shares our vision to use innovative approaches to\nenhance the quality of life and outcomes of the pupils we support.

Location: Belmont Secondary School, Rawtenstall – Belmont Secondary School forms part of our Acorn\nEducation brand, and is an independent\nspecialist day school, supporting pupils aged\n5-18

Essential Criteria: 

* Recognised\nSpeech & Language Therapy degree 
* Valid and\nup to date HCPC Registration 
* Registered\nmember of RCSLT 
* At least 5 + yrs\npracticing experience working at the specialist level with this client group in\na similar setting
* Highly developed\nspecialist knowledge and clinical understanding underpinned by theory and\npractical experience
* Experienced in\nmulti-disciplinary working across a range of settings, with some responsibility\nfor service & team performance
* Highly experienced in\ncommunicating with and working with families/relatives and carers
* Highly experienced in\ndeveloping training and in person presentations
* Highly experienced in\nproviding professional and clinical supervision
* Highly experienced in\ntaking part in research projects and conducting audits
* Skills Essential\nDesirable Exceptional relationship building, analytical and judgmental skills.
* Exceptional\ncommunication skills (oral and written)
* Excellent time\nmanagement and organisational skills
* Advanced knowledge and\nhighly experienced in the core areas of SaLT practice and clear understanding of RCSLT Communication\nStandards
* Advanced knowledge of a\nrange of approaches relating to neurodivergence, cognitive differences /\ndifficulties and trauma informed practice
