Senior Sister / Senior Charge Nurse – Surgical Admissions Unit

We are looking for an experienced Sister/Charge Nurse to lead our dedicated Surgical Admissions Unit team. The unit has an 11‑trolley assessment area and a 16‑bed ward and works closely with all associated specialties and our Surgical SDEC colleagues to deliver effective assessment and ongoing care of emergency surgical patients.
Responsibilities
* Accountable for the 24‑hour care delivery and management of the Surgical Admissions Unit, including the supervision of staff and students
* Maintain visible presence and provide a clear focus for effective clinical leadership to the team
* Professionally accountable and responsible for assessing skill mix and team structures and implementing changes in working practices ensuring that care processes and systems support the delivery of high quality patient care
* Promote a personalised, patient‑centred approach to care in collaboration with carers, relatives and health care professionals
* Work collaboratively with PALS and patient forums to investigate and resolve patient concerns and complaints
* Ensure the rights, dignity, privacy, respect and confidentiality of all patients
* Hold regular ward meetings, providing the opportunity for all staff to discuss and also to share organisational and professional information
* Implement staff wellbeing standards and promote a culture where staff feel valued and listened to
