Overview
Hill McGlynn Recruitment is working with a well‑established, growing M&E contractor to recruit a Junior Mechanical Estimator based in Sittingbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, motivated individual to develop a career in mechanical estimating, supporting the delivery of high‑quality HVAC and plumbing projects across a range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation of mechanical estimates for HVAC and plumbing packages
* Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
* Support with take‑offs, cost planning, and supplier enquiries
* Assist senior estimators with pricing and tender submissions
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
* Support commercial and project teams during project handover
* Maintain accurate records and estimating documentation
Requirements
* Previous experience within mechanical estimating or an M&E background
* Basic understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work within a team and manage deadlines effectively
* Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
* Proficient in Microsoft Office packages
