Lead Veterinary Surgeon – Birmingham, West Midlands (to £90K)
This role offers a full‑time permanent position, working four days a week with one rota Saturday and no Sundays. It is a key opportunity to lead and manage a clinical team in a first‑opinion small animal practice in the City of Birmingham. The successful candidate will oversee surgical and medical cases, shape the practice’s future, and have the potential to progress toward partnership.
Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor and manage a clinical team.
* Deliver high‑quality veterinary care and perform complex surgical and medical treatments.
* Shape the future direction of the practice, including service development and workflow optimisation.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of veterinary medicine and apply evidence‑based practice.
* Participate in professional development and management courses, which will be funded and encouraged by the employer.
Person Requirements
* Degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent.
* Registered with the RCVS.
* Senior or Head Vet experience, or a Head Vet seeking career change.
* Strong clinical skills, particularly in complex surgical and medical cases.
* Excellent leadership, mentoring and team‑management skills.
