We’re partnering with an ambitious, family-owned business in Devon with big growth plans, a fantastic culture, and an impressive executive leadership team. As the business continues to evolve, we’re looking for a standout People & Culture Director to help shape the next chapter.
This is a rare opportunity to join a high-calibre executive team where people strategy is seen as business strategy. You’ll lead and develop an established team, influence at board level, and play a pivotal role in scaling a values-led organisation without losing what makes it special.
This role requires someone who can be physically present and connected to the business. You must be able to work from Willand, Devon at least 3 days per week. This is a key part of the role and non-negotiable.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading the full People & Culture agenda across the business
* Partnering closely with the CEO and executive team on strategic growth
* Driving engagement, culture, leadership capability, and organisational development
* Leading, mentoring, and developing a strong People team
* Remaining hands-on and visible across the organisation - this role combines operational delivery and strategy
* Helping build a high-performance culture while retaining the warmth and values of a family-owned business
What we’re looking for
* A commercially minded People & Culture leader who can operate strategically and tactically – need to be comfortable managing operational demands, as well as driving change
* Ideally with experience of working in both larger-scale businesses and SME environments
* Experience as a senior HR / People leader within a growing business
* Someone with proven experience of operating at executive and board level and able to proactively contribute to wider business decisions
* A collaborative, credible leader who enjoys building relationships across all levels
* A hands-on approach with the energy to drive change and growth
* Someone excited by being part of a thriving business in Devon and committed to being on-site 3 days a week
