About the role
Are you a seasoned professional passionate about delivering world-class infrastructure in the power transmission and distribution (T&D) sector? Balfour Beatty is looking for a drivenOverhead Line (OHL) Construction Managerto join our Power T&D team inIpswich.
As an OHL Construction Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of complex overhead line projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency are at the heart of everything we do. Working on transformative projects within the power T&D sector, you'll manage teams, schedules, and resources to deliver on our promise of excellence.
As aConstruction Manageryou'll:
* Support the Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager in their responsibility for overall profit and lossof a standard or major project whilst ensuring the highest standards of safety, sustainability,environmental and quality are implemented
* Promote a collaborative working environment which ensures client, internal and other stakeholders’ requirements are effectively managed, and employees feel motivated and engaged to deliver
* Support in the winning of a number of projects in accordance with the Power T&D Strategic Plan as necessary.

What you'll be doing
* Manage Site Managers / Project Engineers to ensure that all work undertaken satisfies all requiredsafety and technical policies and procedures
* Plan the work and oversee the requirements for necessary materials, plant and equipment
* Oversee the requirements for resource and then manage staff for the project
* Manage the construction site(s) on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labour force,monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control
* Ensure that all work is carried out according to NRSWA and be responsible for effective liaisonand collaboration with Highways Authorities, Local Authorities and other Utilities providers etc.
* Ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgetsand monitoring progress
* Check design documents
* Responsible for a working environment which ensures the achievement of all safety andenvironment legislation, engineering and customer standards.
Who we're looking for
* Full Clean UK Driving Licence
* Previous experience working on OHL National Grid Projects is desirable
