The Opportunity
We are seeking an Associate Architect to join a leading retail technology team on a contract basis, focusing on process and governance within the architecture function. You will play a key role in supporting decision-making, enforcing architectural standards, and managing governance processes for solution designs – ensuring that technology investments deliver strategic value and align with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
* Support architecture decision-making and approval processes.
* Ensure compliance with architectural principles, standards, and patterns.
* Oversee demand management for architecture-impacting work.
* Set up and run governance forums such as Architecture Review Boards and Design Authorities.
* Track solution designs from submission to approval, producing weekly progress reports.
* Maintain accurate meeting records, actions, and decisions for stakeholders.
* Support resource planning and act as a delegate for senior architects when required.
Skills & Experience
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
* Good understanding of technology architecture at a high level.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.
* Proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
* IR35 Status: In Scope
