You are invited to join the Talking Therapies team in West Cornwall as a Counsellor/Psychological Therapist. You will deliver NICE‑recommended modalities such as Person‑Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE‑CfD/CfD), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Couples Counselling for Depression. The role is based in‑person at Talking Therapies West Cornwall, TR16 4AR.
Key Responsibilities
 * Assess, formulate and implement NICE‑recommended counselling modalities.
 * Provide time‑limited counselling to service users meeting referral criteria.
 * Use routine outcome measures, evidence‑based treatment, and electronic record/ data management systems.
 * Participate in clinical and management supervision.
 * Ensure care aligns with Talking Therapies national guidelines and service expectations.
Qualifications and Experience
 * Education
 o Advanced Diploma in Counselling (80+ hours placement) or equivalent.
 o Member of or working toward accreditation with BACP or UKCP.
 * Essential Experience
 o Evidence of working with individuals experiencing mental health problems.
 o Experience of providing evidence‑based psychological interventions.
 o Training in a NICE‑recommended counselling modality if not already completed (will be arranged and supervised).
 * Other Requirements
 o Current UK professional registration.
 o Successful Disclosure and Barring Service check (subject to Rehabilitation of Offenders Act).
Salary and Working Pattern
Band 6 – £38,682 to £46,580 per annum (permanent contract). Full‑time or part‑time options are available.
