H ome-Start Southp ort and Formby is recruiting Family Support Co-Ordinator /Worker 21hours a week (over 3 days, Tuesday, Wednesday and one other) £14,196 21 hours 7% pension mileage allowance 5 Weeks Holiday Home-Start is a voluntary organisatio n working alongside families in their own homes and communi ties to help them through challenging times. We support familie s with at least one child under 5 years of age who are facing a range of challenges. These include poor mental health, isolation, financial difficulties and challenges caring for young children or children with additional needs. This post is funded by The National Lottery and has b een created due to an increased demand for our unique service, and to enhance the supp ort we currently provide to families. As a Family Support Co-Ordinator /Worker, you will work closely with designated families to provide a range of support, tailored to the familys needs. Purposes of the jo b To p rovide immediate support for families in need To contribute to the effective day to day operation of the scheme in accordance with the Home-Start Governing documents, Standards and Methods of Practice, Home-Start Agreement and Quality Assurance Standards. To maintain high standards of practice in supporting families within the ethos of Home-Start. Complying with the schemes administration, monitoring and financial systems. To ensure inclusion and diversity in all aspects of the schemes operation and work. Main Responsibilities Manage a caseload of children and families allocated to you, assess the needs of the families and offer appropriate support. Ensure families support is reviewed at regular intervals, and at the end of Home-Start support in line with current Home-Start guid ance. Provide one to one support to a case load of families and signpost to partner voluntary or statutory services as app ropriate. Identify and act on safeguarding issues and have a clear understanding of the boundaries of professional relationships. Contribute to the provision of social events and day trips for Home-Start families and volunteers. Contribute to the running of weekly Home-Start baby and toddler groups. S upport for families Receiving referrals and assessing needs of families. Introducing families to appropriate support. Ensuring support to families is reviewed at regular intervals and at the end of Home-Start support. To undertake designated responsibilities to safeguard and promote childrens welfare. Managing Volunteers Recrui ting and training suitable volunteers. Matching and introducing volunteers to families. Providing support, supervision and on-going training opportunities for volunteers. Working in Partnership Ensuring appropriate liaison with referrers and other professionals Networking appropriately within the community. Managing the Wider Context Promoting th e scheme, it s profile, ethos and practice. Contributing to the development of Home-Start locally, regionally and nationally. The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as detailed above. ADZN1_UKTJ
