We've had our best ever hospitality team this season but one member has had to leave. We need someone to join us in the stunning NW Highlands until the end of October.
You will be an experienced Hotel General Assistant capable of working to the standards of our award winning, small and friendly hotel team. Live in accommodation (no charges) and staff food on and off duty (no charges) are available.
Our small Highland hotel, Eddrachilles, is in the northern Highlands, on the A894 (North Coast 500), about 2.5 miles south of Scourie, 40 miles north of Ullapool. Please note that this is a remote location with virtually no public transport. It's about natural beauty rather than night clubs.
The role is operational (not management) and wide-ranging. Your rota would include a mix of shifts including:
* housekeeping;
* waiting on tables;
* laundry;
* washing up & clean down kitchen duties
* occasional front desk, check-ins and check-outs.
Please note, although training will be provided, you need to be able and willing to do all of these tasks to a good standard, it's too small a team for specialists.
The rosters are typically 5 worked days in every 7 and include some early starts There would be a mixture of split shifts and work-through shifts and around half of your shifts would be housekeeping/laundry and half on table service/guest facing roles.

Eddrachilles Hotel has 10 guest bedrooms. Most guests stay multiple nights and include birdwatchers, hill walkers, and NC500 adventurers as well as returning guests who love spending time in this stunning, remote Highland location. Typically they are more mature couples although we welcome children 12 years and above in our accommodation and of any age for dinner.
You will need to demonstrate in your cv and interviews:
* Experience in each of the duties with a good level of competence in most.
* A passion for hospitality and an understanding of good customer service
* An eye for detail a commitment to getting those details right
* Experience of working in a small independent hotel and formal restaurant.
* Good spoken English
* Resilient, Self Starter, and Honest

* Teamworking: enthusiasm, sense of humour, self starter, good time keeper, reliable
* A love of dogs;

Eddrachilles Hotel is right on the coast (seashore with seals at bottom of the garden) and likely to suit someone who enjoys outdoor activities or who wants a sense of space and nature. To get the most of the location, a driving licence will be helpful as there's very little public transport in this area. There's a shared staff car available.
On the positive side, this is a great place to save money and most of our team travel in the winter from the money they have saved. We also have a very good rate of repeat returners in the team .
