We have anopportunity for a Senior Java Developer to lead development of our HR system, RSM People Manager. People Manager is a key part of our strategy as it is an enabler for obtaining efficiencies in our payroll operation. This is an exciting role where you will help steer the direction of the product, working closely with our business line colleagues and technical colleagues who develop our payroll product. You will be instrumental in supporting a significant sales drive of the product.
You will have overall responsibility for this product, ensuring that the roadmap is delivered alongside business-as-usual changes, and ensuring that 3rd line support requests are handled in an accurate and timely manner.
You’ll make an impact by:
1. Being responsible for the development of the product
2. Serving as a technical product expert
3. Providing advice and knowledge transfer to the sales and operational teams
4. Estimating development timelines and deliver to those timelines
5. Working with stakeholders to define requirements
6. Researching and design new features
7. Resolving bugs and issues
8. Mentoring and develop more junior colleagues
9. Unit and integration testing of components under development
10. Working with the internal functional test team to resolve bugs
11. Performing reviews of other developers work

12. Experience of being the lead developer of a whole, or significant part, of a complex system
13. High proficiency in Java with at least 5 years commercial experience
14. SQL (5 years commercial experience)
15. JavaScript/JQuery (3 years commercial experience)
16. Experience in implementing secure systems
17. HTML
18. CSS
19. REST and SOAP interfaces
20. Knowledge of a version control system ( GIT / SVN) and release management
21. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
