Overview
Self-Employed Milk Recorder – Location: Yeolvil/Sherbourne. Does being outdoors, travelling between farms, and supporting the dairy industry appeal to you? If so, we want to hear from you. We are looking for dedicated self-employed Milk Recorders to work across the countryside, visiting dairy farms, collecting individual cow milk samples, and updating computerised records throughout the year.
National Milk Records (NMR) supports the UK dairy industry by providing essential services like milk testing, recording, and data insights. Our work helps farmers monitor herd health, improve milk quality, and boost productivity, offering valuable information on breeding, nutrition, and disease management. As a self-employed Milk Recorder, you’ll visit dairy farms to collect milk samples and events for individual cows. The samples and data collected enable NMR to deliver detailed reports that empower farmers to make informed decisions to keep their herds healthy and businesses thriving.

Responsibilities
* Visit dairy farms to collect milk samples from individual cows and update computerised records.
* Support NMR with data collection to deliver detailed reports for farmers.
* Record events and observations accurately to help monitor herd health and productivity.
What We’re Looking For
* Valid driving licence & own transport
* Organised and self-motivated individuals
* An interest in farm life and dairy production
* Basic computer skills and access to Wi-Fi
Self-Employed Role
As a self-employed contractor, you’ll have the autonomy to manage your work independently. Payment for this role is based on herd size, calculated on a per-cow basis, and details will be discussed before you’re allocated to a farm.
