We believe housing is more than just a home – it's about support, opportunity, and helping people move forward in a way that suits them. We're ambitious, growing, and always looking for people who share our values and enjoy making a real difference.
About the Team
Our Property Services team looks after around 700 properties, including homes, hostels, and office premises. We work closely with in-house colleagues and trusted local contractors, collaborating across departments to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service.
About the Role
We're looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Officer with a strong plastering and tiling background to join our Property Services team. You'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality repairs and maintenance service across our homes, hostels, and offices.
You'll work independently and as part of a small, supportive in-house team, carrying out day-to-day repairs, void works, and planned maintenance — always with customer service, safety, and quality at the forefront.
What You'll Be Doing
* Undertaking multi-trade repairs including tiling, plastering, carpentry, painting & decorating, and plumbing
* Diagnosing and resolving building defects efficiently and effectively
* Treating damp and mould, identifying root causes, and reporting findings to reduce repeat issues
* Working in both occupied and unoccupied properties, delivering a professional and respectful service
* Using handheld devices to receive, record, and close jobs accurately
* Supporting property inspections and agreeing work schedules when required
* Ensuring all work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard
About You
You're a skilled and reliable tradesperson who:
* Has proven experience as a multi-skilled operative.
* Takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and first-time fixes
* Is confident working independently but enjoys being part of a team
* Has excellent customer service skills and communicates clearly and respectfully
* Is organised, adaptable, and able to manage your own workload
* Is comfortable using smartphones or handheld devices for job reporting
Essential Requirements
* Proven multi-trade maintenance experience
* Strong plastering and tiling skills
* Knowledge of damp and mould diagnosis and treatment
* Basic IT skills and ability to use handheld devices
* Full, clean UK driving licence
* Commitment to health & safety and customer satisfaction
Desirable
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant trade
* Experience working in social housing
* Knowledge of Building Regulations
* Additional trade skills
