Business Development Manager – Manned Guarding
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire – office-based and field-based only (no remote work).
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: Competitive basic salary (DOE) + uncapped commission.
Benefits: Company vehicle, fuel card, mobile phone, laptop.
Holiday: 20 days + bank holidays.

Nationwide Security is a leading UK provider of physical and electronic security services. We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead growth across a wide range of manned guarding services, including:
* Corporate and commercial building security
* Facilities Management (FM) guarding
* Static and mobile security officers
* Keyholding and alarm response
* Event and venue security
* Gatehouse and access control security
* Front‑of‑house, concierge, and reception security
* Healthcare facility security (NHS & private sector)
* Education sector security (schools, colleges, universities)
This is a pivotal role within the business, ideal for someone with a proven sales background in the security industry and a passion for building long‑term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and convert new business opportunities across multiple sectors.
* Build a strong client pipeline through cold outreach, networking, and referrals.
* Develop tailored security solutions to meet client‑specific needs.
* Present proposals and tenders with clarity and professionalism.
* Collaborate with operational teams to ensure contract delivery aligns with client expectations.
* Maintain accurate CRM records and report regularly on sales activity.
* Consistently achieve and exceed set sales targets.
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development within the manned guarding or security services industry.
* Knowledge and sales experience across multiple sectors: construction, corporate, retail, FM, healthcare, and education.
* A demonstrable track record of securing new business and long‑term contracts.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
* Highly organised, self‑motivated, and target‑focused.
* Full UK driving licence is essential.
Please note: This is a fully on‑site and field‑based role. You must be able to work from the office and travel to client sites as required. Remote work is not an option for this position.
