We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Team in Richmond & Kingston, offering a competitive rate of £39.04 per hour (Umbrella). This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well‑being of vulnerable children and families in our community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in safeguarding practices and a commitment to delivering high‑quality social work services.
As a Senior Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
* Developing and implementing effective safeguarding plans in collaboration with multi‑agency partners.
* Providing supervision and support to junior staff and social work students.
* Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in line with local policies and procedures.
* Participating in court proceedings and providing expert testimony when required.
To be considered for this position, you must hold a recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. Additionally, you should have:
* A minimum of 3 years' post‑qualifying experience in child protection and safeguarding.
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
* Proven problem‑solving abilities and a strong commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
