About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Multimodal Freight & Customs Operator to join a busy operations team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate international shipments, manage customs clearances, and support road and warehouse logistics projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coordinate full door-to-door FCL shipments with overseas agents
2. Arrange vessel bookings and coordinate collection from shippers’ premises
3. Review and manage shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists
4. Track shipments and maintain accurate customer updates
5. Oversee supplier invoicing, customer billing, and incidental cost tracking
6. Support inbound shipments for a 3PL warehouse project in Germany
7. Prepare UK import and export customs declarations
8. Assist with road freight coordination for European exports and UK imports
9. Maintain operational records, KPI reporting, and shipment visibility across systems
Essential
10. Experience in ocean freight forwarding and UK import/export customs declarations
11. Strong organisational and communication skills
12. Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities
13. Comfortable using IT systems and learning new software
Desirable
14. Experience with road freight forwarding
15. Exposure to CFSP customs clearance processes
16. Experience with warehouse management systems
17. Scope, CNS, Destin8, e-Customs by Descartes
