Job Description
PE Global are currently recruiting for a Machining Technician for a contract role with a leading multinational Diesel Engine Manufacturing client based in Peterborough.
The successful candidate will be working within the Research & Development Department to carry out, a variety of machining tasks to support our current and new programs, working to tight deadlines.
This will involve reading and interpreting engineering drawings and following engineers’ instructions using a variety of machinery (CNC and conventional) to produce the parts.
Required skills
* Good PC skills, including Microsoft Office, emails etc.
* Previous experience operating conventional Lathes, milling machines, Grinding, Boring machines and or CNC programming / operating.
* Previous experience in using measuring equipment, including Vernier calipers depth and thread gauges to name a few.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Desirable skills
* Apprenticeship / City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Machining or equivalent qualifications.
* Previous experience at work coordinating or Leadership Experience.
* Experience using Mazak 5 axis Mazatrol smooth X control, Feature Cam.
* Experience using Haas ST 10 Fanuc control.
