General Manager - Hove, East Sussex Job Type: Full Time The Role Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee both our production kitchen and front-of-house teams. This individual will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, maintaining high standards of quality and service, and leading a motivated team to drive success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production, hospitality management, and business operations. Key Responsibilities: Operations & Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the front-of-house team. Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service. Implement and maintain operational procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity. Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. Foster a positive, collaborative and inclusive work environment. Ensure compliance with all food safety, health, and safety regulations. Financial & Business Management: Manage budgets, cost control, and financial performance to drive profitability. Analyse sales data and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and customer engagement. Manage supplier relationships and oversee inventory control. Customer Experience & Brand Management: Uphold The Flour Pot Bakery’s brand values and maintain a consistent customer experience. Engage with customers to build strong relationships and gather feedback. Ensure the café and retail spaces are well-presented, clean, and welcoming. People Management & Development Recruit, train, and retain a skilled team across kitchen and front-of-house operations. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development. Create staff schedules to ensure smooth operation and efficiency. Compliance and food safety: Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to food hygiene, safety, and company policies, always ensuring compliance is completed to a high standard. Ensuring that both the production kitchen and front of house areas are always kept to the highest of standards. Communication: Ability to create a culture of great communication, including regular team briefs, management meetings, reading and responding to emails during your shift or as and when deemed necessary by senior management. Having great lines of communication with the senior management Requirements: Proven experience in a senior management role within hospitality, bakery, or food production. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team. Solid understanding of food production processes and front-of-house operations. Strong financial acumen, including budget management and cost control. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Knowledge of health and safety and food hygiene regulations. Passion for high-quality food and artisan baking.
