About this role

Science and Engineering is looking for a Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. We are seeking outstanding applicants who have a shared ambition to join the School. We are a growing department, having been founded in 2016, making this a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, enthusiastic academic to help shape the future of Engineering at the University of Chichester by developing and delivering high quality teaching and building a successful research area. Engineering offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and computer science, including a substantial degree apprenticeship provision. Our programmes are recognised for their academic quality, innovation and close ties to the industries in which our graduates will work.

Working with the Engineering, Computing and Maths staff team and students, you will, among other activities, make a key contribution to designing, developing and delivering new and existing undergraduate, post-graduate and degree apprenticeship programmes. You will also contribute to our vibrant research culture and excellent student learning experience. The postholder will ordinarily be expected to undertake programme co-ordinator duties and responsibilities.

About you
We are particularly looking for applicants with research interest and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Control Engineering
  • Communication systems and networks
  • Mechatronics
  • Instrumentation
  • Your teaching will be informed by a combination of practical experience and/or research to support high quality learning and teaching, experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), and the use of technologies to enhance the learning, assessment of and feedback to our students.

    You will work within the team to strengthen the distinctiveness of the University’s student experience as high-quality, personalised, accessible and aspirational. You’ll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively within a small academic team, excellent teaching methods with the ability to develop a variety of approaches to learning and teaching that is student-centred, inclusive and flexible.
