Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is delighted to announce the arrival of our state-of-the-art da Vinci robotic surgical system in December 2025. To support the expansion of our robotic surgery programme, we are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) to join our Bank team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting-edge robotic technology within a high-quality private healthcare setting, alongside expert consultants and a supportive multidisciplinary theatre team.
At Spire Cambridge Lea, we provide comprehensive treatments in a safe, comfortable and relaxed private hospital environment for our patients across Cambridgeshire and East Anglia. We're dedicated to providing quality care and treatments. Built in 1987, the hospital employs more than 250 people and works in partnership with 240 consultants. It offers 63 beds, 22 consulting rooms, five theatres, on site MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Xray, Dexa Scanners, a stand-alone physiotherapy facility and a discreet
women's health suite.
As a Bank Surgical Care Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting robotic-assisted surgical procedures, delivering high standards of peri-operative care, and contributing to excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Assist consultants during robotic-assisted surgical procedures
Deliver safe and effective peri-operative care within SCP scope of practice
Support pre-, intra-, and post-operative patient management
Maintain high standards of clinical governance, safety, and professionalism
Contribute to efficient theatre flow and positive team working
About You
Registered healthcare professional (NMC or HCPC)
Postgraduate qualification as a Surgical Care Practitioner is essential
Experience or strong interest in robotic or advanced laparoscopic surgery
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work flexibly as part of a Bank workforce
