Job Description
3. Assist with preparing financial statements and management accounts.
4. Support the team with reconciliations, including bank and supplier accounts.
5. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
6. Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
7. Process invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
8. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
9. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
10. Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
11. Strong grounding in finance with experience in reconciliations and revenue reporting
12. Confident working across purchase ledger, credit control, and payroll support
13. Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivots, lookups, handling large datasets)
14. Commercially minded with the ability to spot trends, inefficiencies, and variances
15. Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
16. Confident communicator, able to build relationships with non-finance stakeholders
17. Experience in a multi-site, hospitality, or operational business is highly desirable but not required
